In honor of the newest of Harry Potter Movie out this week, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, I have brought to you some of the infamous set designs conjured up by Stuart Craig. Mr. Craig, an Oscar winning English production designer, is credited for the authentically magical sets for many of the Potter films. I am sure you will recognize these rooms:
The Gryffindor Common Room at Hogwarts School
(Tapestries and slipcovers copied from those at the Cluny Museum, Paris.)
The Shreiking Shack.
A bit of a fixer-upper.
The Astronomy Classroom
Mr. Craig has brought the world of Harry Potter to life in a magical way.

Thank you Ash. Glad you stopped by.:)
Yeah for Harry Potter!!!
Wow! I've never seen a Harry Potter movie (or read one of the books), but perhaps now I should go see one. Amazing sets!
Hi POC! If not for the kiddies, I might not have seen them either. But my daughters, like most their age, are quite enamoured!
Hi Kate-
Fun huh? :)

Thank you Arch! I think your blog is wonderful!
Hi Leah! If my daughters could, they would too!
The school where I worked in Wales was in a 12th c. castle. They scouted it for HP, and it would have been perfect. But the school didn't want that much disruption.
Hi Fairfax! Glad you could visit! My husband has lots of family in Wals. We want to visit soon!
Great Post...I am very familiar with the Harry Potter movies as I have a little grandson that seems to be totally enamoured with Harry Potter 2 right now. So I sit and watch with him. Makes me feel like a kid again. I love the set designs. Thanks for giving a little more insight into these rooms.
Hi Patricia! My pleasure.:)
I am an absolute Hogwarts fan and loved these photos! Thanks for posting your source, too. That way I can go find a copy.
